Many people think that good training can be designed in a few hours. It can’t. To PROPERLY write a full-day workshop expect it to take at least 3 days. There’s a LOT involved in design.
My advice to anyone designing training is to set aside dedicated time for it. If you try to design in between meetings and other tasks, you are constantly having to refocus and mentally reset.
Yes, it’s a creative process and we can’t always be creative on demand – but giving yourself a decent chunk of time to focus on your design is always worthwhile – aim to work in half day chunks if a full day is too much for you.
