Following our first Lunch n Learn session on Designing Training for Virtual Delivery, I captured the learning points that I took away, and summarised them. Click the button below to download my 15 tips for designing engaging and effective training for delivery in a virtual classroom.
I’ve really enjoyed running our pop up programme for Designing for Digital Delivery. Here’s a summary of the key learning points from the sessions:
-
Good design is good design and the basic principles of design are exactly the same.
-
Keep it simple (but mix it up) – i.e. don’t use 10 different tools/methods if 3 will do.
-
Make participants accountable – individual activity before and after the session is more important.
-
It shouldn’t be driven by tech – it should be driven by human interaction.
-
Allow more time than you need. I scheduled each session to last an hour. They all took 75 minutes and then they were a bit squashed! Next time I run it, each session will be 90 minutes.
